Showcasing Canada’s innovation and tech ecosystem, and helping Canadian companies connect to talent and business growth supports with the rest of the world, are the primary goals for Magnet’s Executive Director, Mark Patterson, as he participates in Europe’s largest tech conference, Web Summit.

The conference, taking place this week in Portugal, is expected to draw more than 70,000 people from around the world including CEOs and founders of some of the world’s largest companies. The conference is an opportunity to network, meet potential investors, gain market intelligence and learn from the industry’s thought leaders.

Magnet was selected as one of Canada’s top technology companies to participate with Canada’s delegation to Web Summit. The delegation, supported by Global Affairs Canada’s Global Opportunities for Associations (GOA) program and ITAC, consists of a strong contingent of Canada’s top tech companies in AI, web management, cyber and Canadian federal, provincial and municipal leaders at Web Summit. More than 300 Canadian companies, as well as federal, provincial and municipal governments are attending to showcase the calibre of Canadian talent on a global stage. There is a Canadian pavilion at the Summit to showcase Canadian technology and foster B2B meetings.
