Have you heard about the ALiGN for Newcomer Talent Community? Magnet powers ALiGN – a technology supported employment model developed in partnership with the Ontario Tourism Education Corporation (OTEC).
Magnet powers ALiGN to connect job seekers with the right employment opportunities. ALiGN is designed for individuals who may be facing labour market barriers, such as newcomers to Canada or refugees.
ALiGN’s model does this through integrating an online psychometric tool from Lumina Learning that assesses job seekers’ attitudes, skills and behaviours. The results of this personality assessment allow employers to find job seekers with aptitudes that are well-suited for the types of roles that are in-demand across various industries.
OTEC worked with employers from across Ontario to understand the characteristics of people who excel in occupations with labour shortages. Successful employees from real workplaces were assessed and those results formed benchmarks or what we call “candidate profiles.” This is the basis for how job seekers are matched to the fit-based job postings that employers send through the ALiGN platform.
The aim of this assessment is for job seekers to find roles that fit with their personality traits, which will reduce employee turnover for employers and create quality job connections.
There could be in-demand jobs in your industry that were benchmarked; this means you could make a fit-based job posting to candidates in the ALiGN for Newcomer Talent Community!
Here is a list of benchmarked roles currently available for fit-based job postings:
