Magnet developed and actively promotes a Trades Pathfinder community that new users can join and that job seekers with an existing Magnet account can access.
By signing in to the portal, users can access various regional Construction Trade Hubs featuring learning resources and information about finding apprenticeship opportunities and unionized jobs. The portal also includes an in-system Resource Centre populated with information and material to help users learn more about Canada’s construction sector and related career paths. Magnet’s large, national network of job seekers and employment service providers enables us to create greater visibility and awareness of opportunities available through this program. This gives Magnet the capacity to direct users on its platform to SkillPlan’s regional learning hubs, where they can start their career journey.
Magnet also provides an important bridge between Canada’s construction sector, which faces a looming wave of retirements, and a national network of job seekers. The Trades Pathfinder page enables Magnet’s user base to explore career opportunities in the skilled trades.
