Transforming the delivery of employment services through greater efficiency and region-specific solutions.
In 2020, the Government of Ontario began piloting a new service delivery model for employment services. As part of the pilot, a Systems Service Manager would be responsible for the management and delivery of various social assistance and employment-related services.
Fleming College was selected as the SSM for the Muskoka-Kawarthas region and worked with Magnet to leverage our digital infrastructure to support job matching, employer contact management, region-specific insights, and access to jobs and learning resources for job seekers in the region.
Magnet created a one-stop-shop solution through our platform that included access to learning opportunities, career support resources, and job services from employment service providers across the Muskoka-Kawarthas region. Magnet helped reduce fragmentation and effort for employers and job seekers by providing one entry point to access services from different partners and organizations.

The Employment Ontario Transformation pilot provided an opportunity to deploy Magnet’s technology in support of a region-specific solution and establish a coordinated entry point through which job seekers and employers could connect to resources and opportunities from service providers all across that region.
Magnet and Fleming College also collaborated to develop and deploy an in-system reporting tool to provide relevant insights, inform future policy and activity, and ensure accurate reporting to funders and other key stakeholders.
The tools and features developed through Magnet and Fleming’s partnership will provide the foundation to support other SSMs as the pilot is rolled out across the province.
