Magnet and RBC have partnered to connect businesses in RBC’s network with job matching tools and wage subsidies when hiring youth talent.

              About

RBC Future Launch is a digital community focused on supporting youth job seekers with job opportunities and career development, while also supporting RBC’s network of businesses with hiring young talent and accessing wage-subsidy funding.

Magnet developed a connected network of communities, including:

              • A Youth Matching Portal that gives youth access to information to support career decisions and find work
              • An SME/Not for Profit Portal to provide talent-recruitment tools and learning resources for small businesses

              Solution

Through Magnet’s built-in functions and additional technology integration, users had access to:

              • Targeted content alerting job seekers and employers to new opportunities and resources from RBC and beyond
              • Job posting tools for employers to proactively target diverse applicants
              • The Outcome Campus Connect tool, which employers can use to post jobs across more than 125 post-secondary job boards
              • RBC-approved resources to help youth job seekers understand and navigate the job market

RBC leveraged its own network to build awareness of the Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) and other funding sources administered by Magnet.

              Strategic Alignment/Impact

In an ever-evolving labour market, it’s crucial that young professionals receive support to prepare for joining the workforce, and that small businesses get the help they need in recruiting top talent and navigating the digital marketplace.

RBC is an example of a large enterprise boasting a huge clientele of businesses and job seekers. Magnet’s efforts helped bridge the gap between that clientele of small business owners and youth job seekers across Canada, connecting them via government funding.

Magnet’s role as a delivery partner of the SWPP positions us to support small businesses in hiring student talent while offsetting costs.

Magnet facilitated these connections with the superior job posting capacity of Outcome Campus Connect, and the wage-subsidy funding for work-integrated learning opportunities available through the SWPP.
