Creating pathways to rewarding careers in advanced manufacturing across Atlantic Canada.
WILWorks Atlantic Youth in Manufacturing is a two-year initiative that facilitates short-term, paid work placements for youth aged 16-20. The program provides employers in the manufacturing sector a $2,500 wage subsidy to hire an eligible youth job seeker. The program will facilitate 130 placements, with a target of 40 per cent of participants coming from underrepresented groups.
As an Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) partnership initiative, the project champions the potential of Atlantic Canada by creating opportunities for economic growth in the region.
Magnet provides an entry portal where eligible employers can access hiring tools to reach student talent within Atlantic Canada, and beyond. Employers can also use the portal to apply for the wage subsidy.
Magnet’s network of active projects, and its integration of the Outcome Campus Connect hiring tool, enables job postings to reach youth job seekers nationwide, increasing the visibility of the program.
In addition, Magnet created a customized version of its Outcome Adjudicator tool, making it easy for EMC to manage wage subsidy applications and deliver relevant program reporting data to ACOA.
Magnet’s digital infrastructure, as well as its capacity to support the hiring of youth and the administration of publicly funded wage subsidy programs, gives employers in Atlantic Canada the means to hire new talent, creating economic benefits for the region.
Magnet’s partnership and support of WILWorks Youth in Manufacturing demonstrates how its adaptable infrastructure is able to provide tailored solutions for industry and government-led programs, including those with a regional focus.
By combining hiring tools and access to funding, Magnet’s streamlined solution simplifies program deployment, optimizing its impact for job seekers, employers, and local economies.
